Downloading videos from Mux streams
So, you know how to use Mux for livestreams, but you want to create MP4 versions to upload elsewhere?
We will use an iOS Shortcut that fetches a list of recent Mux video id's, so we can select which ones we want.
- First, make sure you can install third-party Shortcuts:
- Then, install this shortcut and follow the instructions. You will have to enter (only once) a secret key you will find in 1Password and your email address, which will be used to automatically send you links to the MP4 files.
- Visit this page on Mux.com where you will find a list of video assets.
- Run the Shortcut, and select the ID's you want to use. You will see that the ID's you can pick correspond to the videos you see on Mux.com.
- Follow the instructions, and your Shortcut will send a request to generate MP4 versions. After 10 minutes, you will receive an email from 'HNI-bot' with links to the mp4 versions. (If they are not ready yet, you will also see instructions how to get the url a little bit later).
- Download the video from the generated url:
